Marjorie Eaton first arrived in Taos, NM in 1928.
Eaton said, “I realized I had found my soul when I arrived in Taos.”
This will be the first exhibition to focus on Marjorie Eaton’s vast portfolio of work, not only as a modernist painter, but also as a photographer and actress. The show will also provide an unprecedented glimpse into Eaton’s personal life through never before seen letters, photographs and personal effects. Don’t miss this special opportunity to intimately experience this pioneering female artist whose efforts from the early twentieth century and beyond continue to resonate today.

Artists from around the Southwest and the world gathered during this week to paint the dramatic landscape of the Rio Grande del Norte Nat’l Monument and the charming historic sites around the remote village of Questa. Now it’s time to view the results!
The two-day, highly-anticipated art show will be held in the nearby mountain town of Red River. The art-deco style Rail Haus at the front of the Alpine Lodge is the unique venue right on Main St. 10a-5p, Sat-Sun., with opening reception Sat. eve. 5-7p Add lunch, brunch or dinner at one of the new cafes, and your day-trip will be complete!
Saturday morning features a Quick-Draw with awards given at noon in Brandenburg Park, also in Red River. Come choose your favorite piece direct from the artists’ easel!
