Why Go: There's a lot of history in Taos, but the Earthship Visitor Center offers a glimpse of the future as well. The Earthship community is full of houses made out of common trash, such as tires and glass bottles. Don't be fooled though! These homes are absolutely beautiful on the inside and out. The community is largely self-sustained, getting energy from solar panels and food from greenhouses.
